The GSM-AUTO is a GSM remote control switch, it connects to the mobile phone network and like a mobile phone has its own telephone number. The GSM-AUTO is activated by calling its phone number, it will recognise an authorised telephone number calling it, reject the call without answering and switch on or off the device connected to it, because it rejects the call without answering there are no call costs incurred.

It has 2 independent relay switches, these can be programmed to switch on for a pre-determined length of time whenever the GSM-AUTO is called. The relay switches can also be temporarily or permanently switched on or off by sending the GSM-AUTO a sms text message command. It can report the relay status by sending back a text message.

Applications include the control of heating, lighting, engine pre-heaters, aviation engine pre-heaters, irrigation systems, water well pumps, pumping stations, remote access control of gates, re-setting of remote servers and routers, control of remote scientific instruments.

Two independent relays that can be programmed to switch on for a period of time between 1 second and 18 hours when the unit is called.
Two access modes are available, open access where the GSM-AUTO will respond to any incoming call, and secure access where it will only respond to programmed authorised numbers Up to 500 authorised user telephone numbers can be added to the white list, when the secure access mode is activated only the numbers in the white list are able to activate the GSM-AUTO.
Authorised numbers can be added and deleted as required by sending the unit sms text commands
The relays can be permanently switched on or off by sending the GSM-AUTO a text message command, a confirmation text can be returned if required
The relays can be temporarily switched on for a period of time between 1 second and 18 hours by sending the GSM-AUTO a text message command, a confirmation text can be returned when the relays turn on and off if required
Two relay contacts: with normally open (N.O) and normally closed (N.C) contacts, maximum switching capacity is 10 amps @ 230V ac per relay

What power supply do I need?
You need to provide a 12V DC power supply capable of supplying a minimum current 500mA.

What SIM do I need?
You can use any GSM networks SIM card.
Please note teh GSM-AUTO will not work with 3G or CDMA networks.

Will it work anywhere?
It will work anywhere in the world where there is a GSM network and it can receive a signal.

Can it be activated from another country?
It can be activated from anywhere in the world as long as you have access to a telephone.

Can anyone activate the GSM-AUTO by calling it?
Yes and no, the GSM-AUTO can work in open access mode whereby it will respond to any call made to it, or secure access mode when it will only respond to authorised numbers.

What are the call costs?
When you call the GSM-AUTO it rejects the call without answering and switches on the device connected to it so there are no call costs incurred. When the GSM-AUTO is initially programmed it sends a confimation sms text message and this will be charged at your network operators rate.

How do I keep my pre-pay SIM card active, my network operator will disconnect if there is no outgoing call activity for 3 months?
Simply send the GSM-AUTO a SMS text message requesting the signal strength level, it will reply by sending you a SMS text message, do this every 3 months or as required and your SIM card will remain active.

Can it be switched on and off by sending an SMS text message?
Yes, remote control by sms message, the relays can be either temporarily or permanently switched on or off by sending the GSM-AUTO a text message command.

Do I need an antenna?
The GSM-AUTO is shipped with an integral antenna, if required there is an SMA connection to use an external antenna.

Does the GSM-AUTO retain its settings when power is removed?
It has a non-volatile memory and will store the settings in the event of a power interruption.
